CONSULTATION
There are many reasons that I no longer offer psychotherapy services:
A transformative cancer taught me that it was hubris to undertake long term work in the face of existential realities and that I was allowed to move off of the front lines after almost thirty years of work as a trauma therapist and clinical supervisor, and integrate my own limitations into the work I take on.
It challenged me to reach for new models and frames of support and collective care that center mutuality, humility, play, mature interdependence, self-regulation, curiosity, numinosity and liberation.
Over a thirty-year career I have had many specialties and sub-specialties. I am usually able to discern very quickly whether I think I can be of use, or to offer an informed referral or suggestion for alternative supports.
I prefer that if you are in therapy that you and your provider discuss your goals are for our work together.
I am not available for emergencies or crisis intervention. You should seek the help of a psychotherapist, community mental health service, hot line or emergency room for such circumstances.
If we work together, I hope that our collaboration might unseat a few certainties and leave you instead with a handful of generative questions.
FREQUENCY/DURATION:
I am available for sixty minute individual consultations on a brief (3 or so sessions) or intermittent basis.
DONATION:
These are not psychotherapeutic services, and are not reimbursable by insurance. The suggested donation is $215 per hour.
